The Center for Entertainment & Media Industries provides opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs interested in the media and tech industries. Our focus is on facilitating access to these industries, mapping their presence in Austin, and researching their convergence to assess and improve labor conditions and equity issues. In addition to speaker series that hone entrepreneurial skills and build professional networks, we support and promote research, outreach, and innovation projects.

The Center for Health Communication is a joint academic center bringing together researchers and experts across broad areas of health communication so they can collaborate, share ideas and innovations, and advance their scholarship and its impact to the highest possible level. The Center can be a resource for teams pursuing SBIR & STTR grants and other external funding opportunities, especially in regards to health interventions such as mobile apps, e-health applications, etc.

The College of Natural Sciences Catalyst Grants program is a College of Natural Sciences internal funding mechanism meant to inspire new interdisciplinary research collaborations in high-impact, emerging fields that will seed efforts to secure major external funding.

The KS WEL Institute hosts monthly EmpowHER Hours for the UT community. EmpowHER hours help equip and empower our students through 1-hour presentations presented by UT Austin Alumnae. Eureka is a searchable database supporting undergraduate participation in research and creative activity across The University of Texas at Austin. Students can find faculty members who regularly work on a given topic using the "Faculty" search, or browse a listing of posted research assistantships with the "Projects" search. All faculty members are encouraged to update their profiles regularly and post projects to better connect with students.

The Texas Performing Arts Fabrication Studios are a fully staffed production facility and learning laboratory. We construct scenic elements, painted backdrops, theatrical properties, displays, and installations for funded projects. We co-design projects with UT faculty, staff, and student organizations and fabricate with our professional staff and paid student interns.

Hosted by the Texas Innovation Center, KS WEL Institute's Female Founder Pitch Competition showcases emerging businesses and technologies that are paving the way to have a significant impact on the world. Open to all UT Austin undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, alumnae, and startup ecosystem women-founders, this startup competition aims to highlight innovation happening in the heart of Texas.

The Find Funding page on the Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors is a clearinghouse of internal and external research funding opportunities available to UT Austin researchers. The Find Funding page includes links to searchable databases containing funding opportunities in the Innovation and Economic Impact space applicable for innovators.

The Foundation Relations team is here to assist faculty in identifying potential foundation funding sources for their research, programs, and projects, as well as developing strategies to approach funders. Office Hours are held every Thursday to give UT faculty the opportunity to meet with one of our gift officers to discuss their projects and potential funding avenues. Faculty are encouraged to use the ‘request a meeting’ form on our website to efficiently engage with our team.

The Foundry provides access to makerspace equipment such as 3d printers, a laser cutter, mills, a VR headset, and a recording studio. The Foundry is designed to train and service entry-level makers. Students can join the Canvas course to learn more about how to get certified on the equipment. The Foundry cannot support large events or classes as equipment is limited.
