Applied Research Laboratories is a University Affiliated Research Center operating under a Department of Defense management plan with oversight by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Applied Research Laboratories makes significant contributions in support of national security through fundamental research, innovative science, and applied engineering.

The Center for Creative Entrepreneurship (CCE) was formed to empower students in the cultural arts with the confidence, skillset and practice necessary to transform their passion and ideas into viable business opportunities. For too long creatives have missed out on learning the core fundamentals of building a sustainable business, or how to think entrepreneurially about their career. But the business of art has changed in the last decade, and requires the mindset that CCE empowers.

Global Career Launch supports faculty with an established relationship at a university or an industry partner abroad to serve as faculty director to lead and supporting cohorts of up to 10 UT students as they intern or conduct research with said collaborator/institution. Interdisciplinarity is encouraged and the faculty’s research or teaching does not need to align with students’ internships. Research and internships focused on entrepreneurship and innovation are invited to apply.

Texas Venture Labs works campus-wide across disciplines to transform graduate students into entrepreneurs and business leaders, take their innovations to market, and accelerate startups in our ecosystem. We do this through our Practicum course and Fellows program that provide experiential learning for grad students, our Investment Competition, and our Accelerator. The Texas Innovation Center offers a personalized environment for faculty and students to explore entrepreneurship that includes educational workshops, speaker series, coaching sessions, and direct guidance for technology commercialization pathways; from ideation to market validation to fundraising. We accomplish this through Startup-In-A-Box Resources, TxIC Friends and Mentors Network, Innovation Lab, and co-working space. A place to inspire, create and commercialize.

UT Austin students interning at a startup or working in an entrepreneurial venture may be eligible to enroll in EXP 000 (undergrad) or EXP 080 (grad), the university's zero-credit internship and experiential learning course. This is a tuition-free course with self-paced experiential activities that help students reflect and build upon their experience. As a benefit, this course maintains enrollment for students who do not plan to enroll in other courses while participating in the experience.
