Humanities Research Awards

The Humanities Research Award was established in 2009 by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts to support faculty in their efforts to bring an in-progress research project in the humanities to completion. Tenured and tenure-track full-time faculty in the College of Liberal Arts whose work falls within the disciplines of the humanities are eligible to apply. Open to eligible faculty with commercialization or entrepreneurial goals.

Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship Certificate

Provided by Bridging Disciplines Programs

The Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship Certificate helps students develop skills to bring creative thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset to their goals, whether they’re interested in turning their ideas into a new venture, being part of a startup team, or bringing new ideas to established organizations. Through interdisciplinary coursework and research or internships, students gain skills including idea generation, design/prototyping, problem-solving, pitching ideas, and collaboration.

Innovative Teaching Opportunities with Human Dimensions of Organizations

The master of arts degree in Human Dimensions of Organizations is for mid-career professionals who are interested in learning about the application of the humanities and social/behavioral sciences to their work lives. We work with full and associate faculty to teach a variety of courses. Faculty are paid an overload for teaching in this program. UT staff are welcome additions to our cohort.

Littlefield and Ransom Fellowships

These fellowships support provide seed funding and completion grants to College of Liberal Arts faculty and faculty teams in economics, government, history, international relations, and global studies (Littlefield) and other departments (Ransom) with a public engagement commitment. The Social Entrepreneurship & Non-profits Certificate brings together students who are interested in pursuing a career in the public service sector and expanding their involvement in the community. Students have the opportunity to take coursework from a variety of disciplines that provide skills and knowledge in non-profit management, community engagement, and development. Students also gain hands-on experience through internships and research.

Technology Readiness for Innovating Health

The Drug Dynamics Institute focuses on innovators who are developing novel drug therapies, devices, diagnostics, and digital health solutions. Our courses emphasize the importance of team-based, applied learning across multiple disciplines, including Pharmacy, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Business, and more. Courses include Fundamentals of Health Innovations, Health Innovation Entrepreneurship Practicum, and Health Innovation Dexterity (in development).
